Old fashioned pancake recipe. This recipe makes light and fluffy pancakes

Pancakes, yes PLEASE!!!!  I don’t know what it is about pancakes but they are sure comforting.

I never used to make pancakes from scratch, I was a Bisquick girl. I was raised on them and I never liked  pancakes from a restaurant. I just didn’t like the flavor. Well, all this changed with this recipe. It is hands down THE. BEST.PANCAKE. RECIPE. EVER! ( I can hear the angels singing). They are soft, fluffy, and just taste darn good!

Add mix ins that you like. What do you add? My kids love chocolate chips (of course) and strawberries. This recipe is also super easy to make. My son Jamison, who is 3 1/2, loves to help. It’s a great time to introduce the kids to cooking. It is something fun to make that they will enjoy eating. There are different components to teach to the kids:

  • measuring
  • pouring
  • mixing
  • teaching about stove safety and what gets hot
  • flipping the pancakes (this is what both my kids beg me to let them do. That is until they feel the heat from the stove, then they get scared)

I almost forget to mention teaching the kids to wash the dishes. My son loves to help wash dishes because he loves to play with water, my daughter, not so much.  I’m working on her though
