I like to include my kids in Valentine’s Day so I get them a card and a small gift and I also like to make a treat for them. This Valentine’s Day I made them Strawberry Rice Krispie Treats.
I looked through my cabinet and saw a can of strawberry frosting starring at me.
To make this treat a little different I added some strawberry frosting to the marshmallow and butter mixture and then of course I frosted the tops of some of them. I like to keep some plain too… just in case my kids aren’t in the mood for the extra frosting. What?!!! Did I just say my kids wouldn’t want extra frosting, hahaha, not likely.
These are a super quick and easy treat to make for your kids.
Strawberry Rice Krispie Treats
- 1 1/2 Tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup strawberry frosting
- 5 oz marshmallows
- 3 cups rice krispie cereal
Spray an 8x8 pan with cooking spray and set aside.
In a medium saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until melted. Add frosting and stir until combined.
Turn off heat and add in cereal, stirring until combined. Pour into prepared pan. Once cooled frost and add sprinkles or keep plain. Cut into 9 bars. Enjoy!
There are so many add-ins you can use when making Rice Krispie Treats. What is your favorite?
