Do you have those days, weeks, or months were you feel like nobody notices what you do for the family? All the cleaning you do, finding ways to save money, cooking healthy meals and so, so, so much more. The only time you get for yourself is when you go to bed. And do you ever think “why am I doing all this? I feel like nobody even cares or notices.”
Do you wonder how hard is it for someone in the house to say thank you. “Thank you for washing my clothes, thank you for making us a nice dinner, thank you for ______________. ”
I went through this. I would cry while I was sweeping the floor, cleaning the toilet or doing some other chore, because I felt like my hard work was invisible.
So why did I keep on keeping on and why do you? For me, it’s because I love my family and want the best for them.
“You can always give without loving, but you can never love without giving.”
~ Amy Carmichael
I was reading my bible one day and this verse screamed at me. Now, I have read this verse many times but before this day it just didn’t have the same meaning as all those other times. This is the verse:
This verse was something I really needed on that particular day and God knew it which is why it screamed at me.
So I wrote it down on a piece of card stock, used my cute scalloped scissors to cut around the edges and glued it on to another piece of colored card stock and hung it on my refrigerator. This is the best place for me to put it because it seems like I’m always opening the refrigerator door and now I see the verse many times a day.
This is a reminder that I am being obedient to the Lord in my daily work. It has really helped me change my mindset and my mood and has made my daily tasks easier.
Remember, someone is taking note (God) and seeing all you are doing for your family. One day you will be rewarded!
