Today is my 40th Birthday! Toot Toot! I thought it would be fun to tell you 40 things about me so we could get to know each other a little better. I hope you like this post as this is something a little different than I usually do.<\/p>\n

I am also doing a\u00a0GIVEAWAY\u00a0<\/strong>(shouting from the rooftop)!\u00a0I am so excited for this, it is my first one.<\/p>\n

  1. favorite decade: 80’s<\/li>\n
  2. I love to hike<\/li>\n
  3. food I crave: toast with butter (it’s got to be sourdough)<\/li>\n
  4. I never drank coffee until I had my first child<\/li>\n
  5. favorite 80’s song: Don’t You (Forget About Me) by Simple Minds<\/li>\n
  6. favorite Christian song: God is on the Move by 7eventh Time Down<\/li>\n
  7. One of my favorite authors is Sophie Kinsella. I laugh out loud while reading her books.<\/li>\n
  8. I worked 2 jobs while in high school as a file clerk at a law office and a trophy maker<\/li>\n
  9. I worked in banking for 15 \u00a0years<\/li>\n
  10. quit my banking job after my daughter was born and went back to school to get my teaching credential<\/li>\n
  11. favorite color: turquoise<\/li>\n
  12. I have a colored pen addiction (like sharpie, micron, paper mate)<\/li>\n
  13. I can’t get enough washi tape<\/li>\n
  14. I have always wanted to open a bakery<\/li>\n
  15. I love nature<\/li>\n
  16. I plant flowers in my yard to attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Each time I see one it’s like the first time. I am in awe of them.<\/li>\n
  17. pulling weeds relaxes me<\/li>\n
  18. I dislike grocery shopping<\/li>\n
  19. I’m a little high strung<\/li>\n
  20. I love to grow my own veggies and fruit<\/li>\n
  21. my grandma and mom are my inspiration. I aspire to be the wonderful moms and homemakers they were.<\/li>\n
  22. I am raising my kids without my mom, which has been very difficult. She passed away on my daughters 2nd birthday.<\/li>\n
  23. I love to play in the waves at the beach<\/li>\n
  24. I’m not a fan of the sand<\/li>\n
  25. if I moved I would live in Central California along the coast<\/li>\n
  26. I dream BIG<\/li>\n

  28. this summer I have become a master griller<\/li>\n
  29. I bought my first car when I turned 16<\/li>\n
  30. I sing in the car<\/li>\n
  31. I love to be silly<\/li>\n
  32. if I could spend all day in Target I would<\/li>\n
  33. favorite magazine: Good Housekeeping<\/li>\n
  34. all time favorite band: Matchbox 20 (there’s not a song I don’t like)<\/li>\n

  36. favorite dessert: cold chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting<\/li>\n

  40. I play the piano. I took lessons for 11 years when I was a kid.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
