This Orange Cream Cheese Frosting you will want to eat by the spoonful.<\/p>\n

It is flavored with fresh orange juice and zest. The orange flavor is a good balance to the flavor of the cream cheese. The frosting tastes like an orange creamsicle bar.<\/p>\n

I came up with this recipe for my Carrot Cake Cupcake recipe<\/a><\/strong>. Oranges and carrots go together great so I thought, why not! I am glad I did, it’s a great combination.<\/p>\n

Ingredients<\/div>\t\t\t

  1. 1\/2 cup butter, softened<\/li>\t\t\t\t
  2. 8 oz cream cheese, softened<\/li>\t\t\t\t
  3. 2 tsp vanilla extract<\/li>\t\t\t\t
  4. 1 tsp orange zest<\/li>\t\t\t\t
  5. 2 Tbsp orange juice (fresh is best if you have on hand, if not store bought will work)<\/li>\t\t\t\t
  6. 5 1\/4 cups powdered sugar (add a little more or less depending on your desired thickness)<\/li>\t\t\t<\/ol>\n\t\t<\/div>\t\t

    Instructions<\/div>\t\t\t
      \t\t\t\t
    1. In a mixer with the paddle attachment cream together butter and cream cheese for 2 minutes.<\/li>\t\t\t\t
    2. Add in vanilla, orange zest, and orange juice.<\/li>\t\t\t\t
    3. Slowly add in powdered sugar. Beat until combined<\/li>\t\t\t<\/ol>\n\t\t<\/div>\t\t

      1. This makes enough to frost a 9x13, 2-9x9 & 2-8x8 cakes and 24-28 cupcakes.<\/li>\t\t\t\t
