Pecan Shortbread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 2 cup all purpose flour
  • 5 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 cup pecans, rough chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease or line with parchment paper a 9x9 baking pan.

  2. Beat together butter and brown sugar. Add in almond extract. Stir in flour and cornstarch until just combined. Stir in pecans.

  3. Pour dough into prepared pan. Using your hands spread the dough evenly throughout the pan. Bake for 25 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned. The top will remain pale.

  4. Cool for 15-20 minutes before cutting into squares.
