Flaky Pie Crust

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 C all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 C + 2 tsp shortening or butter (make sure it's cold)
  • 3-4 Tbsp ice cold water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 500° F. Mix together flour and salt.

  2. Cut in shortening and sprinkle with water, 1 Tbsp at a time until a ball of dough forms.

  3. Roll out dough on a floured surface. Place in pie plate and flute edges. Prick crust with a fork. Bake for 7-8 min or until golden brown.
